The material and composition of steel ball have a significant effect on ball wear.

In order to compensate for the wear of the ball, the mill operation for a period of time, to regularly add the ball. The determination of the longest period of regular ball addition shall be based on the wear of the ball not exceeding 5% of the total load of the ball.
